Land Rover will be producing a five-door version of the Range Rover Evoque, Phil Popham, the company’s managing director, confirmed today at the Paris Motor Show.
The official announcement comes less than a week after photographs of the car taken at a dealer conference were leaked on a Romanian website.
However, there was no sign of the larger car in France today; instead, the company was concentrating on the launch of the three-door model. We don’t expect to see the five-door model until the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
The five-door Evoque is slightly taller than the three-door, giving passengers extra headroom in the back. There’s a decent-sized boot, too.
Despite the separate launches, both the three- and the five-door versions are tipped to go on sale at the same time – next summer – with prices of the five-door expected to start at around £32,000.
